2. Dermabrasion

3. Fat Transfer
This is effective for deep acne scarring. As its name suggests, fat is transferred from another part of your body, to the scarred area. This lifts the scar to a level that is equal to the surrounding skin. These treatments are effective for roughly 18 months.
4. Laser
This procedure is most popular when the acne scar’s depth is moderate. The laser’s light is aimed directly at the scar tissue, causing the unwanted parts to die. The body then removes the dead tissue, hopefully reducing the unsightly appearance of the scar. Normally, after treatment, it looks worse until healing takes place.
The effectiveness depends on the skill of the operator, to reduce the apearance of the scar tissue, without causing more scar tissue to be created. There are a few noteworthy drawbacks to treating acne scars via a laser. The skin will likely appear red for multiple days as it recovers. Also, the patient might require multiple sessions of the laser treatment.
5. Microdermabrasion
This procedure is most effective when an acne scar is moderate in severity. The process uses aluminum oxide crystals. Such crystals are rubbed onto the skin, in order to remove the top layer. The abrasion causes the skin to become smoother, and the acne scar less noticeable.
6. Punch Excision
This treatment is for extremely deep acne scars. After numbing the skin, the scar is removed. Then a skin graft replaces the scarred tissue.
